"I am someone who has been with you the past 9 years. It's probably because of that, the solo promotions felt more meaningful and fun. [THEQOO] KAI'S APPEARANCES ON YOUTUBE CHANNELS - 'PUBLICITY WITHOUT PUBLICITY'

Kai released his first solo album 'Kai' on 30th November and started his promotion activities. The speculations that his Youtube appearances is a marketing tactic to promote his album is apparently wrong.

Putting aside the fact that there is no reference point to the channels he chose to appear in, there has been little publicity of his album in all the videos. Rather, he focused on the content covered in those channels and kept his duty as a 'guest'. So much so that fans started joking among themselves saying, "Is Kai just appearing in channels that he usually enjoyed watching".

An innovative plan of 'publicity without publicity'. Kai's unpretentious attitude and daily-life content narrowed the distance between himself and the public. He showed various sides of him that was unknown to a lot of people in a natural way. It aroused people's curiosity of off-stage 'Kai'. By putting down his mysterious image and approaching the public without holding back, Kai's method worked. In addition to that, the Youtube channels became new beneficiaries of the 'EXO effect', it was a win-win situation.

[WEIBO] TIFA CHEN (CHEN ZITONG) POSTS ABOUT KAI

Okay, I will come clean. I recently fell straight into KAI, Kim Jongin's pit (t/n: became a fan) 

I really haven't paid attention to kpop for a long time now, but in April or May, I saw this vertical fancam recommended to me on bilibili (chinese video platform). I lamented over how I missed out on such an awesome king of performance 

When (EXO) first debuted, I was still a trainee in Korea. Us trainees even discussed them among ourselves saying that EXO felt like a deja vu of middle school, but the quality of the song and the MV was truly great! Their visuals were also top tier. Even after, I liked Growl and their other songs, but I never followed them seriously. I only knew that they are extremely popular 

I've listened to western hip hop for a long time, so recently I randomly decided to seriously look into various SM songs. The reason I previously stopped paying attention to kpop was because so many songs were similar and generic, but I realised that SM songs had relatively stronger musicality, I learned a lot from them 

If anyone has any prejudices against so-called IDOLS, I recommend you watch EXO and KAI's vertical fancams and at the same time, learn from their expressive performances! One word, amazing! 

To me, KAI's performance expression is of really high standard, but I like his voice more. A rich nasally tone that is distinctly recognisable! I myself also felt a great shock when I watched his videos, I'm working hard on learning from him

[INSTIZ] OP MET SUHO AT AN ART MUSEUM OVERSEAS

OP: EXO - I saw him while i was taking a walk at the art museum near my house. I didn't know which member was it but he definitely looked like a celebrity. I was flustered so i bend my waist and greeted him, he smiled and greeted me back. Firstly as someone who has been waiting for Kai's solo for 8 years, I am really happy and moved to be able to be together with Kai during this moment of new beginning. My excitement and nervousness is as much as the length of time i have been waiting for this. I'm sure Kai who is showing this new side of him would be feeling nervous too?

In the 8 years that i like Kai, i have gone from a student in uniform, to a university student being chased by assignments, to now a decent employee. In that period of time, Kai has become a cool person that shines brightly, this fact has never changed and he shines even brighter day by day. I'm so happy that i am able to support Kai's performance in this moment and i really want to thank you for being Kai.

I'm a Year 3 high school student and the moment that i am the happiest and laughed the most this year was when i saw Oppa appear on I Live Alone. You have no idea how much i studied the day before just to watch that 1 hour broadcast. Because Oppa released a solo album before the college entrance exam, I get to listen to Oppa's songs in the morning on exam day so i think i will do well in my exams.
