[NAVER] WHY WAS "MEANING OF 'MYEONG-IL'" TRENDING?

[...] Due to a notice uploaded on EXO's official account, the number of netizens searching up the meaning of the word 'myeong-il' increased.

On the 26th, EXO's official twitter tweeted "EXO's 6th full album's teaser images and MV teaser will be released tomorrow(myeong-il) at noon(jeong-oh). The album and MV will be released as previously planned."

Myeong-il is a sino-korean word (derived from chinese) that means 'tomorrow', while jeong-oh means 12PM. (t/n: these words sound quite formal and aren't commonly used)
  • [NAVER] Why was "meaning of 'myeong-il'" trending? It has got to do with the release of EXO's 'Obsession' teasers
[+127;-3] EXO's influence is really impressive ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Because it was such an unfamiliar word, fans went to search it up and it even entered the real time search rankings ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

[+63;-1] It scares me because I have to do ticketing against all these people who made a random word trend realtime (due to the number of searches). Is there a seat for me?

[+45;-1] It's my first time seeing someone use the word myeong-il...

[+23;-3] That's really amazing, EXO's influence is the best ㅠㅠㅠ

[+19;-1] So it actually means 'tomorrow' and 12PM...

[+2;-0] So it wasn't just me who didn't know the word and searched it up ㅋㅋㅋ
